About this work
Pale stone walls, deep doorway shadows, the air itself almost visible in the heat. This is Malta as it feels from the inside — not photographed but remembered, distilled into colour and mark.
Kirsteen used loose, expressive gestures to suggest architecture rather than depict it. The result is a painting that holds the warmth of the Mediterranean permanently — the kind of warmth that doesn't fade with the season.
